Salvatore Rubino, tied to the Mafia Genovese crime family, pleaded guilty. The ring used fronts like a gelato shop, soccer club, and Rubino's shoe repair. Alongside Rubino, others from the Genovese family also admitted guilt for extortion and running gambling businesses including an online operation
