The largest of the 2 settlements — for $1.3 million — will go for a 2017 police pursuit case. The second — for $1.2 million — is over a man who died in police custody in July 2015. Chicago taxpayers will spend $2.5 million to compensate the families of two young people— ages 18 and 24 — whose deaths are tied to allegations of police wrongdoing.
