Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) questioned an Apple executive about iPhone alerts encouraging him to pay $0.99 for iCloud storage during a hearing on Tuesday examining whether large tech platforms hinder innovation and entrepreneurship within the industry.

Apple only provides 5GB of free iCloud storage to customers, whereas Google offers 15GB of free cloud storage to it users.

Apple previously upgraded the amount of local storage in most iPhone models after facing criticism for years.
