Apple Pay reached over 1.8 billion transactions in Apple’s fiscal Q1 2019 (ended December 29, 2018), which is more than twice the volume the mobile wallet saw during its fiscal Q1 2018.

In the company’s earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook highlighted a few factors that drove transaction volume growth.
