"Star Wars" creator George Lucas is creating a compound in Carpinteria, California: He purchased a two-acre beachfront property for $28 million next to one he already owns, reported Katherine Clarke for The Wall Street Journal.

Lucas has an estimated net worth of $6.4 billion, according to Forbes.

The filmmaker also co-created "Indiana Jones" and has earned several Academy Award nominations.

Lucas, 75, spends some of his fortune on real estate and philanthropy.
