Coronavirus hits immigration courts as DOJ continues to refuse to shut down system

The Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review shut down two immigration courts in New Jersey and New York on Tuesday following confirmation that people at the Elizabeth Immigration Court and Varick Immigration Court tested positive for the coronavirus, Roll Call reports. 

Documented reports that the person who tested positive at Varick is a staffer. It’s unclear who tested positive at Elizabeth, but what is clear is that this virus is now spreading through immigration courts...
