A friend of mine recently advocated for a young, attractive woman not to get a job as a geological consultant (he is a friend of the man responsible for making the decision) because the position involved living in close quarters with mostly male colleagues and they agreed that, to paraphrase, “she would sleep with people and cause disruption”....
