Police searched an area in the Hudson Valley for evidence of an explosion after several residents reported hearing a mysterious loud booming noise, authorities said. The possible explosion was reported by residents in Putnam County on Saturday, April 14 just before 9 p.m., when both the Carmel and Kent Police Departments received calls reporting a loud noise in the Lake Carmel area.
