A mistrial has been declared in the case of a Fort Lauderdale man accused of killing his father, dismembering the body and dumping the remains at an old golf course in Boca Raton.

Palm Beach County Judge Laura Johnson granted the defense's motion for a mistrial Friday after an undisclosed medical issue involving assistant public defender Elizabeth Ramsey prompted her absence.
