Mount Charleston’s elementary school faces permanent closure following flood damage

The Clark County School District is recommending the permanent closure of Mount Charleston's only school. Earl B. Lundy Elementary has been closed since August 2023 when it was damaged in storms and flooding caused by Tropical Storm Hilary. According to a CCSD letter sent to parents on May 10, the closure is due to the expense of rebuilding the school.
