Microsoft president Brad Smith said the company encourages employees to speak out about corporate practices, he told Business Insider at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Silicon Valley employees at companies like Google and Amazon have organized walkouts or quit in protest of military contracts or handling of sexual misconduct.
