Asia stocks rallied on Monday following commitments by the United States and China to resume trade talks.
China's benchmark Shanghai Composite index opened 1.5% higher, while Tokyo's Nikkei jumped nearly 1.7%, and South Korea's KOSPI rose 0.6%.
US stock futures also climbed, after US President Donald Trump said he would hold off on new tariffs on China and said he would lift some restrictions on Chinese tech giant Huawei.
