Zach Perret, CEO and cofounder of Plaid, said the startup wants to work with big banks to put controls in place around customers' data.
Perret, whose company is set to be acquired by Visa for $5.3 billion, told Business Insider the fintech has already worked with Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase.
Consumers should have a toolkit that allows them to manage connectivity to their data with the bank, the apps they use, and potentially Plaid, he added.
